I was born and raised in Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University. I met my wife, Denise in Portland and after she had exhausted all other offers, she finally agreed to marry me in 1982. We were members of a Presbyterian church for about 22 years where I was ordained first as a deacon, and later as elder. After retirement, we moved to the beautiful Oregon coast and were affiliated with a Nazarene church. It was there that at age 59, I was finally baptized…Baptist style.
Another move took us to Tucson where we attended another Nazarene church. There I trained as a Stephen Minister. Two years later we received the joyous news of the pregnancy which produced our first grandchild! We did not want to miss out on being full time grandparents and so we moved again . . . this time to Keller. Our daughter Stephanie and son in law, Andrew Ott live in Southlake and attend SBC Denise and I have loved and attended Southlake Baptist Church since 2018.
The wonderful Stephen Ministry team at SBC brought us to this church initially and the focus of Southlake Baptist being a church lead by God’s Word has confirmed our decision. We are so favored to have church leadership committed to the Christian education our youth as well as superlative adult teaching. Again, we are very blessed to be here.
