Travis grew up in the small Texas town of Grandview . He became a Christian when he was 14 years old as a result of a friend taking him to church one weekend. Almost immediately, Travis was given the opportunity to begin to use his gift of music in the youth group. The summer before his senior year of high school, he felt God’s call into ministry. Travis attended Howard Payne University and studied Christian Studies with a specialization in Youth Ministry. Throughout his years in college, he served in various churches , gaining skills and experience to help him both in youth ministry and worship ministry.
After college, Travis was given the opportunity to travel full-time leading worship. It was during this time he met his wife, Mary. Travis had been feeling God’s call back into local church ministry and was called to serve at First Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas, as an Associate Student Minister, focusing on students and worship. While serving at FBC Lubbock , he finished his Masters of Arts in Youth Ministry degree from Howard Payne University.
Travis has also served as Student Minister in the piney woods of east Texas at Central Baptist Church in Carthage and most recently at a church in Huntersville, NC. Travis appreciates the unique gifts and opportunities God has given him over the years to serve in various roles relating to music and students. Travis is passionate about helping families create a legacy of faith and helping God’s people worship Him, not only through music, but with their lives.
Travis loves spending time with his wife Mary, and his three kids, Leanna, Mallory, and Augie. He enjoys listening to music, watching a good movie, and Blue Bell Ice Cream.
