GIVE US THE RESOLVE TO GIVE CHEERFULLY.
READ
2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
REFLECT
God loves a cheerful giver. Giving is worship. Joyless singing is not genuine worship, nor is joyless giving. Remember, God wants your heart more than anything else. Christians give not primarily out of duty, or because they feel guilty or pressured. They give out of a love for JesusChrist, recognizing they owe everything to Him. If your greatest ambition is for Christ and His kingdom, then giving toward that end ought to bring you great joy.
PRAY
Father, make my heart joyful when giving to Your work. Help my joy to be found in Christ rather than earthly possessions. Help me to give with the right heart.
RESPOND
Why do you give? When you give, is your heart full of joy or reluctance? What does this say about your heart? Today, resolve to give cheerfully.
